My name is Tobe Ezeogu, but my friends in the art community know me as Tobe Max Jaeger or Max Jaeger. I’m currently in my 30s and have been drawing and making art since I was 8 or 9 years old, which makes it about 20-25 years of experience. I started drawing comic books at the age of 13, and professionally started when I was 18 or 19 years old, I believe.
I am one of the founding members/fathers of Comic Republic, Africa’s largest comic book company founded in 2013, alongside Jide Martin. I’ve been fortunate in my short career to have been featured on several news media outlets like BBC, CNN, CCTV, and DW Africa while working at Comic Republic. I have also created 4-5 ongoing comic book titles, including “Eru – Fear,” “Amadioha – The Thunder God,” “Blackmoon – Legends of the Masquerade,” “Hero Generation” which I co-created, and “Jade Waziri.”
Currently, I’m working on my newest venture at Juju Games, a game studio I founded in 2020-2021 to make indie African games.
